It looks at the contribution of the resources sector to Australia’s economy and government revenues, the impact of the on-going slowdown in the Chinese economy on its demands for Australian minerals and energy exports, the prospects for other economy to ‘make up’ for slowing Chinese demand, and the prospects for Australia to capitalize on the growing demand for ‘critical minerals’ flowing from heightened geo-political uncertainty, the energy transition and the ‘AI revolution’.
