Tasmania’s Budget Papers are a long way from being “Best in Show”

A comparison of the quantity and quality of the information and analysis provided in this year’s Tasmanian Budget Papers with that provided in the Budget Papers of the other jurisdictions which have presented their Budgets in the past few weeks – Western Australia, South Australia, the Northern Territory and (this week) New South Wales, as well as with some aspects of the Commonwealth’s Budget Papers. The conclusion is that Tasmania could, and should, do a lot better.
